A 1932 Mack fire engine, one of the first apparatus used at the Texas Fire Training School, has been restored and will go on display in the Henry D. Smith complex at the Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station, which is operated by the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).
Ten students from the Texas A&M University Forensic and Investigative Sciences program completed a weeklong Crime Scene Investigation course held this month at the Texas Forensic Science Academy (TFSA) located at Riverside Campus. The unique program is a collaboration between Texas A&M and TEEX.
Wisconsin Emergency Management has launched the Training Portal developed and hosted by the TEEX’s Knowledge Engineering Center (KEC). Wisconsin is the third state to use the KEC software product. The training portal allows emergency managers, first responders and others to register online for local, state and federal classes, keep track of courses completed and even print certificates.
TEEX delivered a 40-hour Passenger Rail Rescue course last month at Disaster City in cooperation with Amtrak. The course was designed and developed in cooperation with Amtrak to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform search and rescue operations at a passenger train or commuter train disaster.

Six employees received the Distinguished Service Award from the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) on Friday, Dec. 16, during an awards ceremony at the Brazos County Expo Center. Recipients were Carolyn Abt, Don Bailey, Laura Corn, Ed Fritz, Debbie Patranella and Lee Santo.
The Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) announced the retirement of Associate Agency Director Bill May, who joined the agency in 1998. May was responsible for Homeland Security Services for the agency as well as Director of the Integrative Center for Homeland Security.

Parish-Fisher, Assistant Professor and Senior Forensic Scientist at St. Edwards University in Austin. CRC Press has published their new workbook, “Crime Scene Processing and Investigation.”
