New industrial fire project simulates a petrochemical plant’s compressor station

A new “Compressor Station” firefighting project has been constructed at Brayton Fire Training Field to enhance the industrial firefighter training offered by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service. The 112 x 128-foot industrial firefighting project simulates a process unit at a petrochemical plant.

Bunker Gear Drying Facility dedicated to fire service champion Pat Barrett

The Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) dedicated the new Bunker Gear Drying Facility at Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station to a champion of the Texas Fire Service, Pat Barrett. The dedication ceremony on July 20, drew about 150 fire chiefs and other fire service leaders, TEEX officials and employees, along with members of the Barrett family.

TEEX Fire Academy graduates 46 new firefighters

Forty-six fire academy students will graduate today and join the ranks of professional firefighters around the world. During the 12-week training program conducted by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), these recruits received both classroom and hands-on training in every aspect of basic firefighting at the Brayton Fire Training Field.
