TEEX initiates a specialty program to a select group of soldiers already trained in basic Dentistry and hold the EMT-Basic certification to prepare for the EMT-Paramedic level exam. These civil affairs soldiers are trained for the possibility that they may be functioning as the health care system where they are stationed.

The Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) held its first-ever NFPA 1006 Wilderness Search and Rescue certification course this month at the Brayton Fire Training Field, challenging participants through a combination of classroom sessions and extensive, outdoor hands-on experiences.

The API Storage Tank Fires project #45 at Brayton Fire Training Field has been upgraded to enhance the training for firefighters who respond to incidents involving fires at flammable liquid storage facilities.

A 1932 Mack fire engine, one of the first apparatus used at the Texas Fire Training School, has been restored and will go on display in the Henry D. Smith complex at the Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station, which is operated by the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).

A cadre of top-notch speakers will provide up-to-date information on leadership, management, safety, budgeting and other relevant topics geared for Texas fire officers and EMS personnel.

The Emergency Services Training Institute (ESTI) was re-accredited for 46 National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) levels during a recent site visit by the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board).

Mike Wisby has been promoted to Associate Director for the Emergency Services Training Institute (ESTI). He joined the Texas Engineering Extension Service in 1990 after serving as Chief of the Spring Fire Department in Harris County.

Billy Parker and Gordon Lohmeyer have been tapped to fill the role of Associate Director for TEEX’s Emergency Services Training Institute (ESTI). ESTI operates TEEX’s Brayton Fire Training Field and the Annual Texas Fire Training Schools.

Robert Moore has been selected to lead one of the top fire and emergency services training programs in the country. The Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) has named Moore the Director of the Emergency Services Training Institute, which operates the renowned Brayton Fire Training Field.

Pat Barrett’s heart belonged to his family, his country, and to firefighters in the great state of Texas. The Pat Barrett Fire School Scholarship established by his wife, Janet, and his family, will honor the long-time champion and friend of the state’s firefighters by helping others attend the fire school he dearly loved.
