Texas Task Force 1 (TX-TF1) along with the Incident Support Team (IST) cache has been activated by FEMA through the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) and will deploy from their facility in College Station to Oklahoma.

Texas Task Force 1 (TX-TF1) was demobilized Saturday by the Texas Division of Emergency Management after a two-day deployment to West, Texas, for search and rescue operations following the explosion of the West Fertilizer Plant on Wednesday, April 17.

Texas Task Force 1 (TX-TF1) is wrapping up their second operational period in support of the search & rescue efforts in West, TX. The team continued delayering the apartment complex structure and performed secondary searches of the neighborhood north of Meadows Drive. The team also performed a wide area search of the West Fertilizer Plant.

Texas Task Force 1 (TX-TF1) was activated just before 1 a.m. this morning by the Governor through the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) and deployed from their facility in College Station to West, Texas, around 6 a.m. to assist the jurisdiction in search and rescue operations after a large explosion at a fertilizer plant.

Texas Task Force 1 (TX-TF1) is wrapping up their first operational period in support of the search & rescue efforts in West, TX. The team will conclude the day, concentrating on the devastated apartment complex.

Five employees were recognized by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service with the 2012 Distinguished Service Award during the agency’s annual reception and awards ceremony.

Texas Task Force 1 (TX-TF1) has passed the FEMA Task Force Operational Readiness Evaluation with flying colors. “We completed the evaluation with very high marks and praise,” said TX-TF1 Operations Chief Jeff Saunders.

The American Council on Education (ACE) Review Team has recommended college credit for 10 online cybersecurity courses offered by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).
